The floorboards were filthy, and a nauseating aroma of stale beer and uncleaned toilets filled the entire establishment . Reeking of a mixture of ammonia , old age and sickness . The serving zone , which should be the primary feature of any pub, was piled high with used mugs and debris that looked like it had accumulated over weeks. The lavatory was in even a truly awful state— spilling over , with a snapped lever and walls covered in what I can only assume was human waste .
